Antal Babits
He was born in Budapest on 7 June 1954. After completing secondary school he continued his studies at Pázmány Péter Academy of Religion that he completed in 1986. Meanwhile he also graduated from the School of Rabbi - Jewish University, and got his degree in Cultural History (MA), where he also worked as a research associate.
Between 1986 and 1988 he won Soros scholarship to research the history of Platonic and Pythagoric traditions of The Music of the Spheres and their contemporary reflections.
From 1994 he has been teaching history of philosophy and related disciplines at various Hungarian universities (Pécs, Miskolc, Szeged).
From 1988 he has been teaching the following subjects at four faculties of National School of Rabbi - Jewish University: history of Jewish religious philosophy, the history of Jewish mysticism (Kabala), history of Hebrew writing and book publishing. In 1999 as a lecturer of Jewish Studies and for being the editor of innovative and sought books, he received Scheiber prize. He is widely published author.
Antal Babits teaches Judaism and kabala at the Integral Academy.
