Dávid Pap
I was born and still live in Budapest. Between the ages of 16 and 24, however, I did my graduate course in psychology at the Hebrew university of Jerusalem and completed the postgradual trainings in Hungary. I am from a family of doctors and psychologists so I was early influenced by my parents. Originally I wanted to be an economist. Having studied economics for a year I was convinced that my future should not have gone to this direction. The beginning of my professional life was not very typical. I was first touched by Milton Erickson’s approach and methods, which serves as the foundation of my psychologist career. Then I completed the training of several methods like integrative hypnotherapy, psychodrama and cognitive behavior therapy.
I further developed my skills and did the three-step training at Milton H. Erickson Foundation & Institute, in Phoenix, Arizona, USA. My professional paradigm was mainly influenced by positivism, holistic, system-based approach. I also work as a management consultant, coach and trainer. I am the secretary of the Association of Integrative Psychotherapy writing its newsletter, editing its website, organizing the methodological training for children’s therapy and doing other administrative tasks as well as teaching in various modules. Few years ago I started a 3-step Ericksonian short therapy workshop that is currently not operational. I hope to restart it soon in academic settings.
Dávid Pap gives introduction to Ericksonian hypnotherapy at the Integral Academy.
