Géza Füssi-Nagy
Africa researcher, senior academic at ELTE University

He was among the founders of African studies and one of the leading figures of Africa research in Hungary. He believes that, „it’s not our,  non-Africans’ job to resolve Africa’s issues... our job is to understand Africa and teach about Africa… Africa is not interested in us, we must be interested in Africa.” He participated several academic conferences, for example in St-Petersburg, Nazareth and Nairobi. Together with students of African Studies, he helped to organise, implement and prepare the academic content of exhibitions on African topics. He established an open-air African show site in Hungary, at Sárospatak and lead the construction of African style exhibition buildings by museums. He was a guest lecturer at Dar es Salaam University between (1986-87) in Tanzania for 6 months. Between 1987 and1988 he participated in the expedition of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (Teleki Expedition) as a linguist-anthropologist.
